Weekend de Volontariat
To mark International Volunteer Day, Alfariq Association launched the Weekend de Volontariat from December 5 to 7, 2014, as a three-day program to instill the values of volunteerism among young people in Ouarzazate. The event brought together a select group of promising youth who demonstrated a strong passion for civic action and collaborative community work. It was not only a celebration of the spirit of volunteering but also a platform to showcase the importance of youth-led initiatives in creating sustainable change at the local level.

Training Workshops and Skills Development
The program kicked off with a presentation highlighting the achievements of Alfariq’s first year and a half as a youth-led initiative in Ouarzazate. On the second day, participants engaged in capacity-building workshops focused on voluntary action and community development. Special emphasis was placed on practical skills like team coordination and social intelligence, the latter delivered by group-based social intelligence games. These activities aimed to enhance participants’ ability to work collaboratively and empathically within community frameworks.
Volunteer Challenge: Experiencing Impact Firsthand
The final day of the program shifted from learning to doing. Participants took part in the Volunteer Challenge, an immersive, hands-on experience where they competed in various real-life volunteering missions. From environmental tasks to youth outreach, each group was tasked with a unique social mission, fostering teamwork, problem-solving,
