9raya Bouhda makafyach

“9raya Bouhdha Makafyach” (Just Schooling Is Not Enough) is one of Alfariq Association’s signature parallel programs, created to open new spaces for youth dialogue in Ouarzazate. Organized in partnership with Espace Régional Drâa, this panel discussion tackled a critical and often overlooked reality: formal education alone is no longer sufficient for building empowered, capable young citizens. Held on January 30, 2016, with the participation of 20 local youth, the session created a powerful platform to rethink how academic learning must be complemented by civic and extracurricular engagement to develop leadership and real-life skills.

Learning Beyond the Classroom: Voices of Experience

The event featured two inspiring Moroccan changemakers: Yassine Bentaleb, engineer and social entrepreneurship program mentor, and Mohamed Benba, well-known YouTuber and host of the show "Daqiqat Taghyir" (A Minute for Change). Through personal stories and professional insights, the speakers explored how their real-life involvement beyond school contributed to their growth and influence. The discussion highlighted how youth need to engage in their communities—through volunteering, leadership, and creativity—to prepare for future challenges and drive social transformation.

A Local Call for Action and Participation

More than just a discussion, the program energized participants to reflect on their current paths and ambitions. It emphasized that education must be lived, practiced, and expanded outside classroom walls—through teamwork, communication, and responsibility. “9raya Bouhdha Makafyach” is a vivid example of Alfariq’s strategic use of parallel programs to reach more youth, especially those not yet engaged in long-term initiatives. It aligns with the association’s core belief: shaping young leaders requires active, real-world involvement that cultivates both personal and social impact.
